Why I Read

Book, it is. Physical bound papers, or virtually on screen. Fiction or non-fiction. Whatever the language. If a book wasn't the first object that pops into mind after reading the title, instead it was the online article, online news, tweets, worse of all, a Facebook post, then, please, grab a book, silent the phone and read the book.

For me, reading a book is like immersing myself in the thought of the author. I could get it all wrong, like, totally misunderstood the wordings and arrived at a drastically different destination of the author's intention. But that's okay. We are both ignorant of this grave mistake.

I might get it right. That is beauty. I learned something new, or better, I unlearned something old. Doors are opened, time are travelled, tears are tasted.

The ultimate beauty is when I managed not to have any judgement, conclusion or even, impression. My sensors read the words, my brain processes them, my mind flow in sync with the thought of the author. A book, I have read. A whole new world, I have roamed, guided.

Read books.
