Portico Darwin: Houston, We Have a Problem

TODAY'S RAMBLINGS
This is a good time for me to let others do the talking.  I may or may not explain why later.

This is a stunning video from The New York Times regarding states where Democrats control the legislative and executive branches.  It's not pretty, but I hope you'll watch, if for no other reason than to dispel the notion that The Times is forever biased against Republicans and red states.

What an eye-opener - despite the preaching, we're not walking the talk.  I hope some of my conservative friends are reading this particular newsletter edition.

Blue States, You're The Problem

And I hope you don't hit a paywall.  If so, here's the gist:  in states where Democrats are in control of government, they do nothing or next to it with regard to affordable housing, equitable education, and wealth inequality, i.e., things they (and I) harp on constantly.

It's sad to see it's not just Red corruption, or even just Blue corruption, but instead, we're the United States of Corruption.

FROM THE UNWASHED MASSES
Frequent contributor Hunter Deuce kept up the excellent work with his response to Monday's newsletter, and he also included a cartoon that nails the zeitgeist.

"Is 'cancel culture' really a thing or did you just say something stupid in front of millions?"

Hunter and I are often aligned with our thoughts, like on this subject, but unlike the matter of Uncle Tupelo, and their place in music history (newsflash:  they don't have one.)

Thank you to any one that is reading this newsletter.

"Workin'".  This has a meaning for me now known only to a select few, and it's also what my beloved California and other true-Blue states need to do:  start workin' and cut the bullshit.

With that in mind, I hope you'll enjoy America's finest musician, Miles Davis, and the album "Workin' With The Miles Davis Quintet", in 192KHz/24bit high resolution.

Fun fact:  those familiar with how prolific Mr. Davis was will not be surprised to learn that just two different recording sessions from mid 1956 resulted in four albums:  "Cookin'", "Relaxin'", "Workin'", and "Steamin'", and each is Textbook.
