One month later

Has it been a month already? I feel like May was only like 5 minutes long... but at the same time, so much has happened.

At the start of May, I talked about taking a break from socials -- primarily Twitter. Almost 1 month later, I'm happy to say I did. Besides, for a couple minutes on the @MelonDev account, I haven't touched my personal Twitter. No tweeting, checking, scrolling, or drama consuming.

And what a fantastic month it's been.

Cutting out Twitter this month is like putting that really annoying TV commercial on mute. It's like finally breathing after staying underwater for a while. It's landing after a 12+ hr flight.

It's just better.

Before my month away from socials, I felt more worried about other people's problems than my own. I was concerned about how every post was perceived, looked into, and studied. Everything was under a microscope 24/7, and everything was always everyone else's business. After working nearly 24/7 and balancing a somewhat social life, I was constantly scrolling to see who hated who now. What are people up to? What problems were everyone mad about today?

So, I think I'll be continuing my social media sabbatical for a while. If and when I do a check-in, it won't be of the same level. Checking into socials and tweeting your every thought really just becomes routine. It's not until you break that routine that you realize how little you really care about it.

For the close friends and those I've known for years and years - I hope you're doing amazing, and your success knows no bounds. I hope you understand I'm still cheering you on from the sidelines, and I fully support everything you all work hard on.

Hopefully, that carries the same weight as when I clicked the "❤️".
