Portico Darwin: Memories Monday

TODAY'S RAMBLINGS
Flag of Ukraine.jpg

My recent recent (very) political posts garnered very little reaction.  OK, zero reaction.  As I always say, I really don't care:  I write this blog because I love writing.  And I honestly enjoy putting my near-infinite opinions and thoughts out there.  You're so very welcome.

But still, I know I've been pretty heavy recently.  For a brief respite, let's climb into our time machine and go back to the good ol' days when men were men, women were women, and both wore hats.  As I've mentioned, I have been scanning my family's old slides and photographs . . . these are my parents in the 1950s.

So now I ask:  which is worse, old photos of people you don't know, or my frequent political dronings?  Toss-up!

But wait - there's more!  I put some cool old Bell System photos of my father on my LinkedIn feed.  You'll see that tech gear and fancy conference rooms are in my blood!

FROM THE UNWASHED MASSES
Actually, Friday's post did garner some responses, from two very loyal readers.  First up is the vacation specialist Hunter Deuce, who managed to pay tribute to Shinzo Abe while simultaneously slamming Trump.  And to that I say:  GREAT JOB, Mr. Deuce!

If nothing else, Abe left us this:

And the museum patron Dr. Doreen Downs confirmed her appreciation for all things equine.

Thanks, Portico, for sharing the video of the magnificent Secretariat - an all-time great for sure.

I never tire of watching those - simply stunning.

Thank you to any one that is reading this newsletter.

KLUF
Hey, it's only rock and roll, OK?  Here are The Rolling Stones with a Serviceable album but one that has on it my all-time favorite song of theirs on it, and perfect for today: "Time Waits for No One".
