Have you ever felt jealous of a friend?

When they look amazing, when they effortlessly overcome a challenge, how their days or life look and the things they get to do. Have you ever felt, even slightly, that you wished you had an element of what they had?

Tell them.

Whenever you feel a pang of envy, tell your buddy and dig into why.

What is your emotion trying to tell you? What’s missing from your life? What’s the downside you’re not seeing? Do you think you want what they have, or do you actually want something else?

Not only does it deepen friendships, but it also brings heightened self-awareness. You understand them more and you get to know yourself on a new level.

In return, they’ll probably tell you when they feel jealous of you.

All leads to more connection with our favourite people, more understanding of our own minds, and a realisation that we’re not competing with our friends, or anyone at all.

All we can do is travel our own paths and cheer each other on.
