True forgiveness

I learned recently what true forgiveness was.

Forgiveness is totally about the person who is doing the forgiving.

Holding onto un-forgiveness is like a rotten apple in a barrel of good apples.

Forgiveness is more than you saying you forgive someone.

It’s you making a decision to not hold whatever it was they did to you (knowingly or not) against that someone.

That’s really, really hard in a lot of situations.

Does that mean you forget what they did to you? Not at all.

But choosing to forgive and deciding not to hold it against that someone will free you from that rotten apple in your life.

Don’t hold onto un-forgiveness.
