Hello Immune System? Did You Check Your Spam Folder?

One thing that kept me from enjoying the new year right away was that I’d tested positive for Covid-19 in early January—but only for five days, of which I spent merely two in bed. Lost my sense of smell for two or three days until it slowly came back, which was a weird experience. Anyway, no big deal—five shots between 2021 and 2023 and one nasty twelve-day infection in early 2023 seem to have left me well-prepared. However, my immune system didn’t get the message after these five days, and it kept behaving as if I were still sick. Which, well, made me feel sick! That was annoying. Apparently, it checked its spam folder last Monday and finally stood down. After which I felt well again, picked up running, and attended so many events from Tuesday to today that I feel I’ve earned myself a rest.

Hence, I didn’t write a lot. There’s a brief review at my blog between drafts of the second conversation with artists around the Arthena Foundation’s “Bodies, Grids, and Ecstasy” exhibition, but that’s it. And I’m still wrapping up pre-Corona photos, with three new Singapore 2019 albums on Flickr: Little India & Kampong Glam (45 images); the Parkview Square Art Deco building (35 images); and the National Library (25 images). There’s also some new stuff at my Instagram account betweendrafts.

For the Sunday Funnies, here’s a hilarious typography sketch by Elle Cordova (Times New Roman: “Do I miss being default font? No.”) that cracks me up every time I watch it. Also, some cat content. Enjoy!
