Take the win.

Recently, I was really struggling with a marketing campaign. The numbers weren't hitting anywhere near where I wanted. The cost for conversion was too high and I was getting extremely frustrated not hitting my goal. People told me the results were solid, but I wasn't accepting that.

Not to bore you with the details, but I ended up trouble shooting some code for 2 weeks straight - testing, iterating, testing, iterating. Finally, I cracked it.

The campaign relaunched after I found the coding issue and my campaign began capturing conversions at a 50% LOWER RATE than what it had been performing at 2 weeks earlier.

Great, right?!

I didn't see it that way. All I could think about what how I wasted 2 weeks not being great from the get-go. All I could think was how those 2 weeks testing-and-iterating weeks could've doubled (or tripled!) my results.

See, I have a problem where I want to win...always.

I know that sounds rough and isn't exactly a healthy mindset. But I want to be great every step of the way and win every single time.

I'm taking a moment now though to celebrate the fact I had a problem. I went to work on it. I solved it. And now my success rate is higher. That is a win. I need to take the win. No one can be perfect every step of the way.

It's all about progress, not perfection. Hell, if it was any one other than me, I'd tell them what a great job they did. But for some reason, when it comes to judging myself, there was no mercy.

I just need to take the win. Progress is a win.
