Letting go of anger

Hey friends,

Earlier this week, I came across a pretty cool quote that I felt resonated with me. Let me know how you feel about it.

A Buddhist saying on the ineffectiveness of anger:
“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else — you are the one who gets burned.”

Source: paraphrased from the work of Buddhaghosa in Visuddhimagga IX, 23

Instinctively we all know it’s not healthy to hold onto anger for ANY reason, yet I find myself doing that from time to time and in the end, the person I’m hurting isn’t anyone else other than myself. If there’s anything or anyone you’re holding that hot piece of coal for, let’s all do what we can to drop the coal, dust our shoulders off (don’t forget your hands!), and keep surrounding ourselves with positive energy.

To quote The Beatles:

Let it be

Wishing you all a great week. I’m working on some really cool projects that I can’t WAIT to tell you about! Until next time.
