The choice to live.

This morning I am headed to a funeral.

While I do not enjoy funerals (who does?), I am grateful for the reminder they bring.

That we will all die. No one sneaks by the grave.

But the bigger question is: Will I live?

As William Wallace said in the 13th century:

"Every man dies, not every man really lives."

I want to pose three questions to you (and myself) this morning to contemplate:

  1. Are you living?
  2. If you were to die today, would you leave a legacy you're proud of?
  3. How can you start living today (what changes can you make), to leave that legacy?

Our time may come suddenly or with anticipation. But that doesn't change our daily choice to live.

I should have addressed this upfront, but what does it mean to live?

That is for you to decide.

But we all know what dying looks like, both temporarily and permanently.

Choose to live, my friend.

And do everything to sustain that life.
