Which content medium will dominate the future? <> Q&A

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

For me, I'd love to be able to see into the future.

That may be rooted in my anxiety of not knowing the future and my inability to trust God at times.

Why would I like to see the future?

Because then I could better position myself for it.

But then, wouldn't that change the future? 🤯

That's a topic for a different day.

Today, I want to gaze into my crystal ball and answer this question sourced from Quora:

Question: Which medium do you think will dominate the future of content marketing: text, video, or audio?

Answer: Text.

How many times do people need to say that the written word is dying before realizing that SOB isn't going anywhere?

It's been around since Jesus, and it'll be here after we leave Earth for Mars.

While I love audio and video content, it will never deliver the impact that the written word has on our society.

I think video and audio can enhance the written word (think audiobook or podcast), but nothing will take it away.

I agree that audio content saves you time, but you're retaining barely 5% of it.

You do the same when you read a blog post or book, but that 5% goes further IMO.

As much as I see both audio and video content rising in the future, I do not see text letting them take the top spot.

And that leads me to my plea: Learn how to write well.

I don't care if you're a visual or auditory learner; you need to understand how to write effectively.

And that's what I hope to teach you through this newsletter.

Have a great Saturday, my friend. ☀️

And if you disagree with my prediction, let me know which of the three you see dominating the future!
